Aregbesola set to delve Adeleke's death.

Mr Rauf Aregbesola, Osun State Governor has promised that the state Government will investigate the sudden death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke.

He said: Adeleke, a member of the Senate until his death, is a man of peace, who left the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the August 2014 governorship poll in the state because he could not stand violence.
He further said the administration had planned a befitting state burial for the late politician, lamenting that this was scuttled by some persons “crying more than the bereaved”, who unleashed terror on dignitaries, who came to honour the soul of the departed.

“It is quite unfortunate that his funeral was disrupted by some disgruntled elements with violence and attack, claiming to protest his death.
They dishonoured him and did his memory a great disservice by keeping his friends, political associates and well-wishers away from his burial.
“The best we could do in the circumstance was to declare three days of mourning throughout the state and fly national, state and our party’s flags at half-mast in his honour.
“The Osun State Government, in respect of the law has promised to unravel the circumstances of his sad and sudden death.

The Yoruba History Corner 2; SANGO, GBONKA-EBIRI & OLOFA INA

Ṣango( the god of lightning and thunder)
Sango was the third king in Ọyọ, a man of extra-ordinary and unusual power. He was so powerful that whenever he spoke, he emitted fire. He was feared and revered by his subjects. He became somehow despotic that his subjects rejected him.
He left Ọyọ for Tapa (his mother’s traditional home) when opposition became so much for him to bear; when Ọyọ had problem, they sent for him, he did not come, but he told Ọyọ what to do. To show appreciation for guidance, he became a deity.
Gbọnka-Ebiri
A powerful hunter and warrior in old Ọyọ, he was sent by Ṣango to Timi of Ẹdẹ. These two powerful warriors engaged in a fight, Timi was captured and brought to Ṣango.
Ṣango wanted the fight repeated, thinking Gbọnka would be defeated and be captured; thereby put an end to the underground or un-noticed rivalry between Alaafin Sango and Gbonka . Unfortunately, the public fight turned opposite, in fact, the outcome of the fight contributed in a significant way to the fall of Ṣango.
Timi-Agbale Ọlọfa Ina
A fearless warrior Ṣango sent to Ẹdẹ, to check the Ijeṣa, and to collect unpaid taxes owed Alaafin. His power, according to history was hidden in his deadly Bow and Arrow.
Timi Agbale engaged in two public fights with Gbọnka (one in Ẹdẹ, and the second in Ọyọ), Timi was over-powered and killed in the second fight by Gbọnka. Timi became the first king in Ẹdẹ.

Jibrin Apologizes

RESIGNATION ALERT: Jibrin Begs Buhari

Suspended House of Representatives member representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal constituency in Kano state, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to pardon him over his recent advice for him to resign.
The former House of Reps Appropriation Committee chairman who was suspended over allegations he levelled on principal officers of the House on padding of the 2016 budget, had on March 30, advised President Buhari to resign.

In tweets on his twitter handle entitled, ‘PMB, time to go,’ Jibrin stated that “so many issues are left unattended even small issues that a presidential cough can deal with are left hanging.” He therefore called on the President to resign so that he can go and rest at home.
His advice was sequel to the President’s medical leave in the United Kingdom where he spent 49 days and perceived rift existing in the Presidency, as well as the face-off between the legislature and the executive arms of government.
However, addressing his supporters at his residence shortly after conducting special prayer for the President in Kofa Juma’at Mosque, Bebeji Local Government Area of the state on Friday, Jibrin said he apologised for his advice to President Buhari which has been misconstrued.
He said, “I apologise to President, APC, Gov.Abdullahi Ganduje and all APC supporters over what I said even though it was misinterpreted and misconstrued. To my party supporters, leaders, friends and all those who felt offended over my comments, I sincerely apologise.

Tboss is a disgrace(big brother Naija)

Big Brother Naija

Tboss is a disgrace to Nigeria

On Wednesday, April 5, 2017, Debbie Rise put it straight to Tboss by asking her to recite the National Anthem.

She couldn't sing the first stanza and her inability to complete it became a big problem among the fans of Big Brother Naija.

The reaction on the side of the fans hasn't been too good for TBoss. Her inability to finish the National Anthem has seen her critics and haters drag her. As Big Brother Naija enters the last lap, this might cost TBoss the coveted N25M.

A citizen of his or her country must know the National Anthem and recite it when called upon. It's not good or posh to mumble the lines of the National Anthem.

You dont have excuse only if you have spent the majority of your childhood and teenage years overseas.
This is not a shot at TBoss. There are millions of Nigerians who do not know the National Anthem and Pledge. It's a shame really because the words of our National Anthem and Pledge are beautiful and prayerful.

There is no need to be angry, shy or ashamed like TBoss. If you don't know the National Anthem, learn it as soon as possible.

ANGER
